Pitch Update: Asos, Warburtons, Reckitt, East Midlands Railway, DfE, Happy Tiger and more

Reviews

Campaign has been reliably informed that brands are unlikely to be launching reviews at this time of year because pitches will interfere with summer holiday plans. The deafening silence on new reviews this week would seem to bear this out.

Ongoing

Campaign understands eyebrows have been raised at agencies hoping to get onboard East Midlands Railway's creative account. The reason? It would appear the brand is hoping to appoint not just one but a roster of agencies to handle the account.

It is understood Asos has drawn up a shortlist in its search for a creative agency.

Four agencies have been deemed just the ticket for the media buying and planning account of Greater Anglia rail and Stansted Express. The statutory review is being run as a two-stage pitch split into performance and brand. Going for performance are Bicycle, Total Media and digital marketing agency Fountain Partnership. On the brand side, the lion’s share of media buying and planning, are Bicycle, Total Media and Bountiful Cow.

Wins

McCann London's McCann Content Studios will be in rude health after being appointed social and influencer agency of record for Durex owner Reckitt's UK health brands. MCS, McCann's social and influencer unit, was picked following a competitive pitch against four other agencies. Reckitt’s health brands in the UK also include Dettol,  Nurofen and Veet. The first campaigns for Veet, Dettol and Durex will be unveiled in the summer.

Wavemaker UK has gone straight to the top of the class and retained the Department for Education’s media strategy and planning account for the school and further education teacher recruitment campaigns. The agency has worked with DfE for more than six years and retained the account following a competitive four-week tender process.

Haygarth has risen to the occasion and won the customer experience account for Warburtons. Haygarth's win follows a competitive pitch against four rival shops.

SharkNinja, the manufacturer of products including Ninja air fryers, has chosen Rise at Seven to handle organic SEO and integrated campaigns in the UK and Germany. The agency won the account following a competitive pitch against a number of unnamed agencies. It is unclear whether Rise at Seven succeeds incumbent agencies.

Online gaming brand Happy Tiger has bet on The Specialist Works as its retained UK media agency. The appointment follows a competitive three-way pitch process, handled by betting and gaming consultancy Cyclickal.

Korean food brand CJ CheilJedang has developed a taste for Art of the Possible and appointed the agency to its strategic and creative account for the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Australia following a series of competitive pitches. Art of the Possible was the UK incumbent and participated in a four-way statutory repitch for the UK business. It also competed against multiple agencies to win the three other markets. The focus will be on social, digital and influencer activity focusing on the Bibigo brand in the UK and promoting gyozas in Germany and kimchi in Australia.
